KAUMAHINA STATE WAYSIDE
About 8 km (about 5 miles) East of
Twin Falls picnic tables and pavilions afford views overlooking Honomau
Bay's black sand beach. A short walk takes us to Puohokamoa Falls for a
refreshing dip in cool pools.
HONOMANU BAY
Access 2 km (1.2 miles) from
Kaumahina State Park off
Hana Hwy (No. 36) on dirt road. A good picnic
area without facilities. Surf breaks over submerged rocks so swimming is
dangerous with strong currents.
KAENAE VALLEY LOOKOUT
A great spot for pictures, but the
rocky coast makes
public
access impossible.
WAILUA and WAILUA BEACH
Heed signs wherever posted. Can be
good surfing and fishing but swimming dangerous because of strong
currents.
PUAA KAA STATE WAYSIDE
A perfect place to rest with picnic
tables, restrooms, pavilion
and several small waterfalls with pools for
swimming and cooling off in.
